Les missions

The Cabinetmaker designs and manufactures custom furniture or restores old pieces while respecting traditional styles and techniques. It starts by analyzing the customer's request or the project by making detailed sketches and plans.

It then selects the appropriate wood species according to the necessary aesthetic and mechanical characteristics. He cuts, assembles, and carves the parts using a variety of modern hand tools and machines. He also applies finishing techniques such as varnishing, patina or marquetry to give creations a unique and refined look.

As part of the restoration, he assesses the condition of the furniture, identifies the original assembly techniques and chooses the best solutions to preserve the authenticity of the piece while consolidating it.

Finally, he can manage his own workshop, advise customers on furniture maintenance and work in collaboration with designers, architects or interior decorators to design tailor-made creations adapted to current trends.
